ElM, there's more to life than hot and cold. Those are relatively unimportant these days. I far prefer heat, but if hot places are run by Castro, Robert Mugabe, Lula, Islamic Jihad and Chavez, I'll stick with colder places.

Africa was excellent for people to live in before some bright spark invented trousers.

Singapore is very hot, but wealthy, with zero resources. Sweden is cold, with nothing much in the way of natural resources but is wealthy. Same with Switzerland [though the Alps could be considered an asset because a lot of tourists like Switzerland].
