I always felt this thread had the right balance. To each his own. EC's lessons in geology are very valuable. If I am roaming around how do I know when and who will find some stock of immediate interest that someone I respect might post. There are many people on this thread that might post something of use at any minute. And it seems endless "chit chat" is just fine, but if someone posts an equal amount of subtantive information, or humor (whihcis much needed) (like EC does) that is what is forbidden. For instance, right now, something is going on with HMI. What if I post that on some other thread on SI, how many people we know will see it and investigate it and report back? And a few great posters is much better than a zillion mediocre posters. One can only process so much information. following too many threads and people is as bad as following too many stocks, IMO.
