I guess you just edited your post. I clicked on it and I think it was the whole article, and then I replied and the part that shows up in the reply web page is much shorter.

I'm still not sure what legal protections have to do with either situation. They aren't addressed in either article.

Generally if broadcasters (or web site owners) want to put adds (including personalized adds) in place I don't see any reason to legally forbid it. I also don't see any reason to forbid attempts to block or otherwise counteract the adds (add blockers for browsers, fast forwarding your DVR, whatever)
