IMO - If Palmolive pays for the add, they have contractual rights for the TV station or web site, or whatever, to show the add. They don't have any right to make anyone actually see it. If I fast forward through the add on my Tivo, or if someone edits it out in a tape they made for me and Palmolive doesn't like it, that's just to bad for them. If I block their add from showing on my browser with adblock, or no-script (assuming their add requires javascript or flash) then again, it is (or at least should be) tough luck for Palmolive.
