If by cautiously you mean be as careful as they can reasonably be, to make sure they get the right person, I agree that this would be a good thing, and that the public discussion might further the cause of continuing or increasing this caution.

If you mean caution as it not doing it, or not doing it except in very rare cases, then I think caution would be a problem.
