So, who's right? The MD had told me that after around 6 months it wouldn't be necessary any more since the rapid bone growth phase would be over. So, after July, it won't matter anyway, but I'm still curious. The AHA changed its 50 years policy and now recommends that patients should normally not receive prophilactic antibiotics before routine dental work, as it had previously recommended for prevention of SBE in patients with known valvulopathies.
