Bill Maher had Ron Paul on again last night and treated him with great respect. The audience cheered him wildly.

Ron Paul is one of the least affected people I've ever seen, which is unheard of in a pol. He just simply opens up and says exactly what he's thinking. He tends to ramble, but I suspect it is because of his intelligence and vast knowledge of history and current events.

While I can't deny your point, I still think he is striking a chord with an inordinately disaffected electorate and could very well have an impact. If nothing else, he makes the other GOP candidates look even more out of touch with the voters' mood than they already are.
