Everytime a NEW candidate appears without much of a record or history people like to "project" onto that candidate all their OWN "idealized" vision of a candidate. They like the guy, so they figure he must think JUST LIKE THEM. Then...when it starts getting down to the nitty gritty of the campaign they start saying things like, "What, he's willing to BOMB Iran???" "What, he might RAISE my taxes???" "What, he is going to CLOSE the factory where I work because of Global Warming???" That's why polls and opinions won't really mean much before next fall.
