"Mike Gallagher was "correct" when he wrote what, exactly?

That choosing NOT TO VOTE for someone SOLELY because of their religion is *not* a form of 'bigotry'??????

Like I've already posted... I believe that such an action *does* fully meet the definition of the word 'bigotry'... but I believe that it is likely to be a 'distinction without much of a difference', as so many biases (pro AND con) play into any individual's calculus for 'who to vote for', that that becomes a fairly normal thing... and people should be free to arrive at whatever voting decisions that they wish to....

Unless one is prepared to totally BLANK OUT all mention of personal religious beliefs (banning all mention of religious affiliation in election campaigns?), then I don't see HOW there could ever be anything like a 'guarantee' that 'religious bias or predilections' did not play into how a voters election choice was arrived at.

And, any possible punitive governmental 'cure' that I can imagine for thoughts like these that play in people's minds when they are in the voting booth, (other then simple education...), are likely to be far worse then the original 'problem'.
