Hugo Chavez is very much like GW Bush in some ways, only more competent. He too got into power by cheating. He too tries to pass himself off as a military strongman. He too cracked down on opponents and the free press. He too is drunk with oil money. He too makes outrageous statements and takes God's name in vain.

Glover's friendship with Chavez might be explained by the 18 million film deal. If so, that's a bitter pill to swallow for Glover fans. Still, you know if Chavez weren't trying to get better oil deals from Conoco-Phillips and the like, and he was more like Gaddafi (who Bush-Cheney firmly support), they wouldn't bad-mouth him. To portray Chavez as some kind of ultimate evil character is laughable. He is less noxious that some of GW Bush's best friends around the world. Gaddafi is a perfect example.
