Indian manufactured goods are usually higher quality than Chinese. They have not aggressively sought market participation in the US and Europe. I have bought a fair number of things made in India and I find their level of workmanship fairly high. They have had Motor Car companies with original designs there for many decades with a healthy domestic market and good repair records. The Tata cars are built to the highest Euro standards. There are plans to bring the Tata small passenger vehicles into North America. Retail price would start at around $13,000.00 to 16K perhaps. Quality and features are be comparable to Japanese, probably better than Korean and vastly superior in price, engineering and quality than the Eastern European offerings. (You would think the Czechs would build the best car in the world given their long and leading industrial experience. Not so far.I would rather have a Cz Tatra than a Skoda ) Tata Indica: Euro III to Euro IV, 48 to 82 HP, diesel to MPFI gas, 5-speed full syncro, macpherson strut, anti-roll, independent susp.
