Once Law and Order finishes its run and presumably Thompson is not in the Oval Office (not at this rate anyway), he is well-suited for one of the talking heads jobs on Fox News. He seems to enjoy overinflated alarmist rhetoric and extreme positions, like his declaration that we should have troops in Iraq as long as there is "any chance" for stability.

IOW, give him another 10-20 years and maybe we can get somewhere in Iraq.
