Paul, your findings are interesting....I don't know why you picked the 4/12 date, but look at what different starting dates does to the performance of those "avg" stocks from each category.

stockcharts.com

If this link pastes properly, you can vary the dates/periods by dragging the "Days Box" ends to cover any period you might want to look at for comparative performance.

I realize this may not be selecting the proper times to classify the "laggards and/or leaders", but it is a useful tool nevertheless.

Regards,

Buck

LEADERS VS. LAGGARDS ....................................

Paul, if there has been a more disingenuous post than yours in recent history, I can't recall it, especially since you didn't post ahead of time what you wanted to gauge.

I also find it very interesting how you selected specific stocks to push your biased agenda. And, bias is an emotion ...

emotions cause "perceptual distortion" where we only see the part of the picture that our beliefs allow us to see.

Paul, Continental Resources Inc. (CLR) does not have much of a track record. However this recent IPO would fall into the laggards category. Just picked up a starter position and thought it was worth a look.
