I'm happy to admit that it is only a theory, and further, the most accepted theory. I do suppose that if further viral infections take this route we will have something closer to proof that meat eaters are in fact responsible for some rather horrifying problems. You might want to factor in the Asian bird flu as another such example. This is really poultry flu, not nearly so much as bird flu. If it becomes a pandemic, it will be because of human-poultry links so that can be laid at the same doorstep.
