It doesn't make much of a dent even if it is true.

At least 4 people where I work have "downsized" their cars to lower their commute costs. A golf buddy of mine is the GM of a Hyundai dealership and says all he is selling is the smaller cars.

Anecdotal but it gives you some hope.


Every time gas prices go up, Americans start buying small cars. As soon as they come down, they buy SUVs. That's happened not once or twice but numerous times over the past 25 years. I don't get it.........are Americans just out and out ignorant?

You might check back with your friend in the fall when gas prices are coming down........see what cars are selling then.
