:45 FRPT Force Protection: Navistar awarded 1200 MRAP vehicles; would be buyers on weakness - CE Unterberg (26.75 -0.94) -Update-

CE Unterberg expects weakness in FRPT shares today after last night's announcement from the DoD that International Military and Government, a subsidiary of Navistar (NAVZ) was awarded a $623 mln contract to build 1,200 Category I MRAP vehicles. Although they had expected, and continue to expect, additional orders to other vendors, the firm had regarded IM&G as a less likely major participant in the program than BAE System, General Dynamics (GD) or Oshkosh Truck (OSK). Their ests assume the Force Dynamics JV wins 42% of the 23,000 MRAP program. They would be buyers on weakness, particularly aggressive in the mid-to-high $20 area. The firm thinks there are more orders coming, probably in the next 30 to 45 days as the F07 Supplemental funds are released, then deployed.
