Yesterday our doorbell rang and Joe opened it to receive an incredible bouquet of flowers in a truly lovely vase. We had sent a young lady up the street a graduation gift and note, and she had come down to say thank you :)

About three days ago our neighbor cut flowers out of his yard for neighbors and we have another vase filled with them.
They are beautiful and some of them still look freshly cut.
They give off a scent similar to yeast in baking bread or a bottle of opened beer. LOL... I've grown used to it now, but at first I didn't even know from where it was coming. It is not a heavy scent but strong enough to have drifted to the kitchen and stairways. I wasn't baking bread and I wasn't drinking beer :) They are peonies. I'd never had them in the house before, only seeing them outside.
