In Florida where both the Governor and the Legislature are controlled by the GOP, there has been a strong push to slash property taxes and make up much of the lost revenue by sharply hiking sales taxes.

Looks like the state will start to move in this direction but not yet to the extent that mansion owners want. The focus will be on cutting services rather than hiking sales taxes.

So - How do we reconcile all these prices being up with a "tame" CPI ? Lets see, food prices are up, energy prices are up, medical prices are up and housing (cost of) is up . . . .

I do agree we are headed for a recession. I just think that a dollar will be worth less even in the recession . . . .
