Quite a few shares to cover.

Well, they won't get mine.

I am back in VLO after riding it from 48 and change to 74 and change.

The Goldman notes, the buybacks, the incredible crack spread, the divvies, the management, the ability to refine heavier grades of oil, you name it, what isn't there to like in a stock which has so many positives yet sells at a low p/e?

I don't know about peak oil as it seems fairly debatable, but I definitely do know about refinery capacity and demand for refined products.

LOL! HAR! I decided to play the danged fool for once, and go the contrarian strategy.....to the shorts! Bot a good sackful of VLO @ $74.78....also picked up some NOV @ $91.62. They both showed signs of a moderated re-breakout ala Dabum's system. Now if BZP will hang tough, it could be a good day's work by 3:00 Central.

I'd be careful about dismissing the shorts so quickly. They are right more often than most perma-bulls are willing to admit. While I bought VLO as a LTBH @ $49.41, I'm perfectly willing to let half or all of it go if it gets swept up in momo mania and gets overvalued. I can always get back in after the 'hot money' has left to go chasing after something else. It's not overvalued yet, IMHO, but it's been rising fast and bears watching. I've enjoyed the ride up, but I'd rather let some one else ride it back down.
