I've asked those sorts of questions in the past. It is a group pretty illiterate in science and math. We do Ayn Rand and Mikey Crichton well, tho. And Aristotle and Socrates. And some French guy starting with an R; Robespierre or Rousseau, one of them.
I got lucky; my grad advisor was doing some of the early work on control systems in human physiology.
