TJ, is quite balanced. He has a chip on both shoulders - USA and Great Britain.

He inherited the chips from Eugene who had it in for Britain despite an excellent education by Britain. Grandfathers have an influence on their grandchildren. But it's more good form than genuine chip wearing = just some nice ornamentation.

China owes more to the French Revolution than to Marx and Engels. The proletariat rose in rebellion against the moneyed and powerful. It wasn't really a Marxist revolt though of course absolute power turned it into that with the state becoming all.

Just as Napoleon became boss behind the revolution in France, Mao took over in China. Neither of them reintroduced royalty.

The totalitarian state was highly popular in the 20th century. USSR, China, Japan, Germany all had versions. All failed to do much of use.
