The Republicans just want to be conned. They're BEGGING for some phony to con them into believing he's the "next Reagan". Thompson might just be that actor. They've learned NOTHING from Bush.

They had a funny bit on NPR today where they played recordings of some Thompson lines from his acting gigs mixed with some of his lines from his political gigs, then added dramatic background music. No noticeable difference..
