I was right smack in the middle of Bob Dylan's peak period. He was the king of the Hippie movement, much more so than even the beetles.

And he was political in that he wrote songs like "somethings's happening and you don't know what it is, do you Mr Jones?"; or "blowing in the wind", or like a rolling stone. His blond on blond album was pretty heavy, or at least we thought so.

I certainly preferred his music to the beetles. "Lay lady lay was a great song.

I wore out the album "Highway 61 Revisited". His best in my opinion.

His albums were cryptic and great music, but I do have to say he turned out to be a paper tiger ala his later prozeltizing of Christianity and his music with Christian overtones. Most of us tuned him out at that point.

When push came to shove, he didn't really have much to say later in life, but he sure got things started.
