Me thinks ASML et al have a very good understanding what's going on They sure have. ASML has a realtime dataconnection to all installed lithotools around the world. They know exactly how these tools are performing. They can do remote analysis on the tools and in a lot of cases they can repair a problem. Or else the ASML technicians who are on the site will do the repair. In every chipfactory there are ASML technicians. They even have their own office there.;) But not only that. ASML is in constant talk with their customers how to improve the operations and so on.
