I've never understood why Florida doesn't legalize casinos. Hell, it's a tourist economy why not get more tourists (and tax revenue per tourist).

Whatever they do will have to be voted on... and if SOH goes away, and the taxes are flattened, then a lot of people would have lower taxes (not me for sure). Probably everybody that bought within the last 3-4 years would get lowered. Right now they are subsidizing the rest of us.

The other unintended consequence of getting rid of SOH would be higher home sales... and also a ton of new inventory on the market. People are handcuffed right now; they can't move because of the tax bite from losing SOH.
