Google's Picasa service might work.

I use pbase.com, which is frequented by a lot of photographers with much more talent than I. I pay $20/year, which buys a fair amount of storage space.

Here are the photos of one of my favorite photographers on pbase:

Another thing to do is resize the photos down to a more manageable size. Any of the photo editing software packages works - Adobe Photoshop Elements, Corel Draw Photo, and I believe also the photoviewing software in Windows lets you do it.
