Currently in my opinion the concentration of economic power in the hands of corporations is an equally pernicious threat.

In my opinion it isn't even remotely close to being the same sort of threat.

Even companies that have dominant positions, generally have competitors, unless the government grants them a monopoly. More importantly the corporations can shoot or imprison you the way the government can.

When you combine the power of corporations with the advantages of free trade for the corporations, the little guy gets screwed every time.

Free trade weakens the power of the corporations. They face more competition. Restrict trade and you have to buy from the domestic companies. With free trade you can tell them to shove it.

A huge corporation can threaten a lawsuit against anyone who says anything bad about them.

Anyone can threaten, or actually carry out a lawsuit. It isn't limited to big corporations. Also its using the power of the government. Courts are part of the government. To the extent that you are abused by the court system you can't absolve the government of responsibility.
