My toothpaste has country of origin on the box (USA). I've never found a health care product that wasn't labeled for country of origin (and we never buy Chinese).

I buy special toothpaste. For years I had canker sores- those white patches you get in your mouth following any trauma- like a slip with the toothbrush that scrapes your gum? Then a neighbor told me she had completely gotten rid of canker sores by using Nature's Gate toothpaste- which does not have a chemical that apparently irritates canker sores, or gum tissue.

I love the licorice flavor, and I've never had another canker sore (and let me tell you, at one time mine got so bad I went to the dentist- I thought I had a toothache, and it was just that the back of my mouth was inflamed)

I've got my whole family on this and the mint flavor now.
This is weird- I tried to find out what the chemical is that irriates gum tissue, and this link:
charlesdentalgroup.com
says it is SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate). I can't say why the toothpaste works, if that is the chemical that is involved, but it works for me :-)

I sent Iams an email asking if any of their ingredients came from China. There was an element of evasion in their response. Here it is:

Thanks for contacting us.

I am very sorry that we have not responded to your message in a timely manner. Normally, we would not take so long because it is not consistent with the level of service we want to give you. However, we have received as many contacts in the past few weeks as we receive in an entire year. Though we have significantly increased our staffing, we have not been able to give proper attention to all of our consumers. We appreciate your patience.

The pet food industry is competitive, so companies do not publicly share their recipes or ingredient sourcing information. Because of the recent issues on processed vegetable proteins, we have made an exception to this rule and shared with our consumers that Iams and Eukanuba products currently on retailers’ shelves are not formulated with any processed vegetable proteins (wheat gluten, corn gluten or rice concentrate protein). Our Tartar Treats product has wheat gluten that comes from non-China sources, and we have tested that supply to make sure it does not contain melamine.

Pets are an important part of all of our families. We share your concerns and are firmly committed to you and the health of your pet. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We value your trust and confidence during this extremely difficult time.

Sincerely,

Karen
