Did the news article you claim to have read explain why their numbers were different from the Treasury Departments? If they were different, they surely would have.

The article might have looked at the deficit w/o the SS surplus. Of course, if you want to not count the SS surplus in figuring the deficit, then Clinton never balanced the budget because the SS surplus is what made that possible.

I figure this is over your head. But have a go, Cliff.
