I much more conservative than you are. I am for conserving what is best about this country. You are for squandering everything we have that is important, including our Consitution and democracy. If it were up to you we'd have a far rightwing one-party dictatorial rule with no free press, no free speech and libreals put in concentration camps. That's McCarthyism. That's also Fascism. There is nothing conservative about any of it. And as for national defense, I am for killing actual terrorists with extreme prejudice. Guys like Bin Laden and Zawahiri especially. Bushies are for letting them go and start a needless war somewhere else and lying about it having something to do with Al Qaida.
