Your mouth must be killing you.... You're undergoing a root canal, I gather, that's become infected? Won't your endodontist open it and release the gases that are causing the pain? I know they are very reluctant to do that, but if I'm reading your situation correctly, you really shouldn't be going what you are. My wife had a situation like yours and had excruciating pain for 3 days....I threatened her dentist I would take her to someone else unless he opened it to relieve the pressure. He then prescribed percocet and amazingly from almost the moment we picked up the RX, her pain stopped. (just coincidence)
If root canals are carefully done under sterile conditions they never develop the problems and can be permanently sealed almost immediately. I learned that from an endodontist a few years and damned, if she isn't right. (makes a lot of sense too) Good luck, I empathize.
