I appreciate the security concern, but again point out that you don't seem too bothered with borders other than our southern one. But the immigrants influence on the country's economy is totally positive. Guilliani, when he was mayor, said NYC's economy would crash without them. I think Bush is basically saying the same thing. No, I wouldn't allow them to cross at will, but I wouldn't require citizenship and would allow them to stay as long as they were employed and paying taxes (as most do now). Here's a thought experiment for you, how were borders established on this planet and by who's authority....?
