I share your sentiments concerning the lack of stakeholder representation, never mind any semblance of closure, presented in the article. If you are aware of a public round-table discussion that has been published anywhere documenting diverse views --other than standards bodies' meetings, of course, then by all means please point to it.

Ericsson and Qualcomm tried to fillibuster, and ended up getting most of what they wanted.
