Gustave.. Calm down.. I'm merely making historical comparisons for the sake of placing context to this debate.

IMO, permitting Jews to resettle in Palestine is no different than the British permitting the Hashemites to resettle in Iraq and Jordan (and almost Syria) at the time..

If people are going to complain about Israeli "occupation" and Zionism, then why aren't they applying the same degree of effort towards Hashemite imperialism?

Is it just because King Abdballah is popular, and probably one of the most modern and progressive Arab leaders (which I believe he is)? Obviously he gained considerable credibility by marrying his beautiful Palestinian wife, but he's not Palestinian, now is he?

But everyone agrees that Jordan's population is primarily "palestinian", yet a foreigner and his royal entourage, are ruling them.. Where's the outrage?

The real problem is that the PLO was created, and then financed, as a "proxy" to be used by the other Arab governments to distract their subject/citizens from their own illegitimate rule. So long as people were focused upon the plight of the Palestinians under Israeli occupation, they wouldn't pay attention to the fact that "occupiers" like the Hashemites are subjugating and exploiting the Palestinians.

The PLO has been trying to create a new nation/state for decades now.. Whether in the West Bank, or their ill-fated attempt to overthrow the Hashemites in 1970, or to create a Palestinian state in Lebanon. But for some reason, they are constantly permitting themselves to be "pawns" of the geo-political maschinations of other Arab countries trying to prop up their own perception of legitimacy.

And now we see Abbas telling his people that the Palestinians are facing a civil war:
