I was talking with a Palestinian the other day, he told that they would love to be assumed by Israel. dissolve the PA leadership and be part of Israel. He also said that Israel will hear nothing of it. I asked two questions, 1) Why would you want to be part of Israel? and 2) Why Israel will refuse? His answer to the first question was: The Palestinians suffered for the last 60 years, they hanged their hope on the Arabs and they are still waiting. The Palestinians do not have the means or the resources to sustain themselves, thus being part of Israel things will change for them for the better, thus, the Palestinians will have peace at last. Answer to question No. 2 was: Israel refusal is for political reasons. If the Palestinians become Israelis that means "one person = one Vote" and that will not suit the Israelis because one day they will be a minority in Israel.

Where is the "dignity" in training your children to become suicide bombers?
Come on Hawk do really believe that BS? Maybe you do? Tell me who wishes their children dead? All you hear is a propaganda from AIPAC and its agents. When a young person sacrifice himself for what he believe in as liberating his country is the same as you going to Iraq to serve your country. The difference is you are in an organized army. Let me ask you this, when an American soldier is killed in Iraq for his country, would his mother cry? Would most mother say he did his duties to his country? The same on the other side. However, depend on which side you are on, you look at one side is a freedom fighter and the other is a terrorist.

No.. I don't see the "distinct" culture, language, or ethnicity of the Palestinian people being any different from other Arabs. They've LOST it, if it ever existed. Tell me where there was a historical "Kingdom of Palestine" (Philistines?).. Show me their distinctive claim to "uniqueness" except the fact that were born in Palestine (because most Israelis have been born there as well). Show me why the world should recognize them as a distinct people.
Lebanese are Arabs, Syrians are Arabs, Iraqis are Arabs, etc... it does not mean that each has no distinct culture. Yes, Palestinians were born in Palestine for many generations, however, Most Israelis migrated to Israel except for the original Arab Jews and 2 generations that were born of settlers.

So let the Palestinians find their soul.. If it's pragmatic and peaceful, then they will win the world's sympathy, as well as my support. But if it is aggressive and malicious, then they will continue to be neutralized and/or occupied. (and deservedly so).
So far their leadership is failing them. Sorry to say this but your statement is like OBL and the extremist statements. You are painting all the Palestinians with the same brush. Tell me if OBL doesn't like US foreign policies in the ME, why would he want to kill or punish all American citizens? It does not make sense.

Re: ...Palestinians MUST take the necessary steps towards building a nation/state that is willing to live in peace with Israel.

But "Israel" is not just another country, it's a war machine --you can't "live in peace" alongside a war machine.

"Israel is not a country endowed with a military, it's a military endowed with a country." --Moshe Dayan.

Re: Bottom line, Jordan is a Palestinian state...

...RULED by a Hashemite dynasty/family that never called for dispossessing and disenfranchising Jordan's natives. Unlike the Jewish Knesset, Jordan's parliament is not exclusively made up of Hashemite kinfolks.

Legal system and legislation

Jordan's legal system is based on Islamic law and French codes. Judicial review of legislative acts occurs in a special High Tribunal. It has not accepted compulsory International Court of Justice jurisdiction.

Legislative power rests in the bicameral National Assembly. The 110-member Chamber of Deputies, elected by universal suffrage ("one person, one vote"), to a four-year term, is subject to dissolution by the king. Nine seats are reserved for Christians, six for women, and three for Circassians and Chechens. The forty-member Senate is appointed by the king for a four-year term.
