Well both the eastern and western Cascades are late volcanic terrane, and as you know some are still erupting. Mt. St. whatsisnameiferget..uknowtheoneinwashingtonthatgotsoangryawhileback.. soooooooooo.. what? there is MAJOR geothermalpotential.. and you KNOW what that means? ENERGY.. and you know what that means..? LESS OIL.. LONG TERM LOW COST TV, maybe light too. plug cars in, live near a hot spring.. heat the outhouse.. compost your crap..fry flies in one of them bug zappers.. the potentials ARE LIMITLESS! So I dunnot about parks here there and everywhere.. mountains everywhere are pretty. they got goats, lions, bears, etc.. ticks, pretty glaciers AND NOBODY GOES ON +40 degree hills. So don't worry, mountains are naturally self preserving. WE NEED POWER. NOW. not to put too fine a point on it. EC<:-}
