SINGING THE BLUES: kennyboy singing on markets
By Charles Payne, CEO & Principal Analyst

6/6/2007 1:58:51 PM Eastern Time

"What goes up, must come down
Spinnin' wheel, got ta go round
Talkin' 'bout your troubles it's a cryin' sin
Ride a painted pony,
let the spinnin' wheel spin

Ya got no money, and ya
ya got no home
Spinnin' wheels all alone
Talkin' 'bout your troubles and ya
ya never learn
Ride a painted pony,
let the spinnin' wheel turn

Did ya find a directing sign
on the straight and narrow highway?
Would you mind a reflecting sign
Just let it shine, within your mind"

-David Clayton Thomas
(Best version) "Blood Sweet and Tears"

I wanted to use "Free Fallin" but the market has actually exhibited some resolve today, although the second half of the session may result in another wave of selling that could take the Dow to a minus two hundred point session. You wanted it, and now the market is busting a move that experts and history always tell us is healthy. I sincerely believe it is, but I feel like a member of a Coast Guard rescue team when this happens. We have to bust a few jaws in order to save the more hysterical investors. Surprisingly, however, our phones have been relatively quiet (we have issued a ton of profit alerts over the past couple of weeks, but core holdings are lower today).

If good news hurt the market yesterday, bad news isn't helping much today. The market has had to digest lower expectations for housing and the economy.
