A man wanted in Italy for alleged terrorist offenses has been arrested in north London, Scotland Yard has said.

Habib Ignaoua, 46, was arrested in a raid on his home in Finsbury Park in a joint operation between UK police and Italian authorities.

The police warrant alleges he organized volunteers to attend terror training camps in Afghanistan and issued them with false documents.

He will appear at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Mr Ignaoua was arrested over claims he organized the volunteers to go to Afghanistan with the use of false documentation between 1997 and 1999.
