For me, too, the US presidential candidates with appeal are always "outsiders".

It was. Warts and all, it stood as an example for all others to follow. No one could have known how it was going to turn out fifty years later -- and one shudders to think how it's going to be in fifty years time.

Always good to follow the oil -- providing it isn't to the Mid East or Africa!! My forebears came to South Africa from Eastern Europe after gold and diamonds were discovered -- now the gold has run out, de Beers grabbed the diamonds -- and I'm in the coffee.
