I'm the only one in my circle of classmates from high school days that still has a living parent. Somewhat unusual for a 70 year old.

I had a friend some time ago who was fond of saying "When you're young your kids drive you nuts. When you're older, your parents do." More than a little truth there, but nothing harmful.

Have you ever heard of St Jude?

The Armenian Apostolic Church honours Saint Jude, along with Saint Bartholomew as their patron saint. In the Roman Catholic Church he is the patron saint of desperate cases and lost causes.


I'm going to send a statue of him to all the senators who voted for the amnesty bill or to those who want to bring it up again.
