TJ, "long-lasting civilizations"? They change. What is now is not what was then.

A long-lasting civilization would be Japan which has had a continuous emperor family for a very long time.

Most other places ... oh, it's all too hard... and I have things to do.

Suffice to say that I don't know of anywhere which would pass for "civilized". Compared with outright carnage, of course some are better than others. But nowhere is fit for the 21st century.
