The cause is only disputed by those who would sell oil and coal and cars.

I suggest you do some more dd. THE worst green house gas is indisputedly methane. As such, the largest source of "man made" methane comes from rotting vegetation in hydro electric reservoirs. The largest natural source of methane is from peat bogs boreal forests around the world. We could ban development of more hydro power and decomission existing hydro reservoirs, but what can we do about peat bogs in the boreal forests? Any ideas on how we can deal with peat bogs?

Not quite, Ratty. The "cause" is also disputed by those who understand the value of oil and coal and cars. By those who value the benefits of modern civilization and realize what makes them possible. Those who are aware that oil and coal and cars (and what they stand for) make possible both the computer you're posting on and the electricity that powers it.

“It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.”

Many people are going to be mighty upset (to say the least), when they find that their salaries (and lifestyle and standard of living) have disappeared... Sacrificed on the red/green alter of global warming hysteria.

Of course you, Wharfy, can just wander off to the next Rainbow Gathering, replenish your stash, commune with nature and continue to rail against the "oil and coal and cars" that keep your sorry posterior alive.. ;-)
