Frank Bill Yanked from Consideration?
A report today in the Cleveland Plain Dealer states that U.S. Representative Barney Frank’s bill to legalize and regulate online gambling will be put on hold while Frank attempts to secure more votes --- this despite the generally favorable response his bill received in a hearing on Friday. ‘There are more votes for my position now than there were a year ago,’ the paper quotes Frank as saying, ‘but there aren’t yet enough.' Frank says he won’t push the bill through the committee until he believes it can pass a full House of Representatives vote, with the paper citing extensive Republican opposition to Frank’s proposed measure.
