I agree she failed to meet her responsibilities. Still I don't think that prosecution is necessarily the answer. I'm not sure a babysitter should be prosecuted in a situation where the parents would not be.

OTOH I don't have a lot of details on which to base any judgment. And its not certain the babysitter will be prosecuted. the story just says that she "could be held responsible if she is found to have been negligent or reckless."
