I went up there every fall for a dance weekend in the late 90's and always had a ball. Lucky enough to always hit their perfect fall weather. I don't know of a prettier city in the world. And I have traveled Europe.

One thing about cities overseas that doesn't come across in pictures is how filthy they are. Clean water and sewage were the gift of the 19th century to us. Foreign elites complain about how "middle class" we are to complain about these things. When you step down to their level, you find out just how much they mean.

Here in Waikiki, the City Fathers know the value of cleanliness to the tourist trade. It looks like Disneyland, with cleaners pushing barrels on wheels on all the streets from daybreak until 10PM.
