I was aware of the crash test rankings--but they were
a little different a few years ago when I last bought
a car. In general, Fords do pretty well. The Taurus
I drive is actually a pretty safe car, and the Explorer
my wife drives is pretty good, certainly at the speeds
she drives rolling it isn't really a factor.

The last time I looked at crash test rankings the
offset test had just been added.

You might be right about Subaru seats--as I said,
it has been a few years since I did test driving.

Personally, I like a bit of a boat. I'd drive a used
Crown Vic if it wasn't such a pain to park.
