"Yusron Ahmahmud was wounded but is in good condition," national police spokesman Sisno Adiwinoto told The Associated Press. "He is being questioned by police." "I can confirm he is a close aide to Abu Dujana," he said, referring to the alleged leader of the al-Qaeda-linked militant group Jemaah Islamiyah. The arrest occurred at a rented house in Kebarongan, a village in Central Java province, Adiwinoto said, adding that he hoped Ahmahmud would help lead police to Dujana. "We think we're getting closer," he said. His wife, four children and two other men staying at the house were also questioned by police, said local police chief Lt Col Suherman, who goes by only one name. Jemaah Islamiyah has been blamed for a string of terrorist attacks in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation. Twin nightclub bombings on Bali island in 2002, blasts in Jakarta at the J.W. Marriott Hotel and the Australian Embassy in 2003 and 2004, and the 2005 restaurant bombings on Bali together killed more than 240 people, many of them foreign tourists. Jemaah Islamiyah has been crippled by hundreds of arrests in recent years and the death of its chief explosives expert, but Indonesian officials say the south-east Asian group remains a threat. Anti-terror officials say Dujana replaced Abu Rusdan as head of the terror group in 2003. He is said to be fluent in Arabic and have direct ties with al-Qaeda. He is also said to have learned bomb-making skills in Afghanistan.
