Hokum. The middle does better with Republican. For one thing, most people in the middle want to advance. Republican policies of low taxation are better for them.

As for the rich, why are most Democratic lawmakers big-time rich?

How do the rich do better with republicans when the democrats are always raising income taxes? The unions and democrats are killing the middle class with their failed socialist educational system and US automakers sinking from the weight of the union "shakedowns".
