I will have hope after people like this are publicly villified by the majority. There is absolutely no justification for what he said, and this should not have taken so long to have happened, admittedly though, it is a step (albeit a small one) in the right direction.

"I'm not controversial," he said.

Ignorant and Clueless beyond belief is much more accurate.
