** OT ** I used to to fluid research. Oceanography and Climate at various times. Was at the Canadian Climate Center out here for four years.

I worked for quite a while in pure turbulence research. Not quite pure because it involved stratification (i.e. water and air are heavier at the bottom). I was the go to guy for new mathematical techniques or numerical models for physical (waves and tides etc) oceanography.

Unfortunately, the one stratified medium I can't deal with is bureaucracy. I found office politics boring and never played the right games. When it became painfully obvious I was never going to get a full time position at any of the places I worked (like with benefits and a pension), I started trading stocks. The end to my alleged science career came quickly.
